Ramailo Summer Quest 2024

The Nepalese Community of Saskatoon (NECOS), in support of Community Initiative Fund (CIF), successfully organized the “Ramailo Summer Quest” from June 1 to August 31, 2024. This program provided recreational opportunities for children and youth under 18, aiming to support their holistic development through diverse activities that fostered physical health, mental health, creativity, and social skills.
Participants engaged in a range of activities, including yoga, outdoor soccer, excursions to Beaver Creek and Saskatoon Zoo, and a drawing workshop. A total of 32 children and youth, aged 3 to 16, took part in the initiative.

The objectives of the Ramailo Summer Quest included:

  • Physical and Mental Well-being: Yoga sessions conducted to improve flexibility and mental health.
  • Physical Fitness and Teamwork: Soccer sessions organized to promote fitness, coordination, and teamwork among participants.
  • Nature and Wildlife Exploration: Excursions to Beaver Creek Conservation Area and Saskatoon Zoo conducted to hands-on learning experiences about nature, wildlife, and local ecosystems.
  • Creative Expression: Art workshops organized to encourage creativity and cultural expression.
  • Nutrition and Supplies: Nutritious meals and necessary supplies were provided, ensuring participants were fully engaged in all activities.

The program successfully met its objectives, offering a balanced blend of physical activities, educational excursions, and creative workshops. This holistic approach nurtured the physical, mental, and emotional growth of the participants. The partnership between NECOS and CIF was instrumental in delivering a successful and impactful program that left a lasting positive impression on all participants and parents.
